From Gigolo to Jesus was a book every man should read. They can change for the better with the help of the Lord. I really enjoy the book and will pass it on to a male cousin of mine. Great book and to know we all have a story inside of us to witness to others.

Ayani_Meli Book Review
*Title of book: From Gigolo to Jesus
*Author’s name: K. L. Belvin
*Publisher: Bravin Publishing, LLC
*Release date (or anticipated release): 2011
*ISBN:
ASIN (if applicable): n/a
Ebook ISBN:
Specs: reviewed via ebook
Website (optional): www.KLthewriter.com
Rating: Four Shouts!
Summary (or synopsis, 1-4 sentences for a short review):
This book is essentially KL’s multifaceted autobiography. He speaks candidly on his life, shortcomings, struggles and subsequent transformation from a woman hating lost soul to a strong, centered, compassionate man of God.
This chronicle of K.L.’s life has been and is unfortunately being played out every day with our young men. There are a myriad of reasons one may travel this path (male or female). The Body of Christ must step up and begin to educate our youth about sex, pornography and Godly relationships. He encourages, not just our youth, but anyone struggling with a sexual addiction to make that 180 degree turn and ‘walk it out.’
On a side note, it is important to understand that there is always more than one way (mindset) to read a book. When the author started speaking early on to parents, I chose to glean as much advice as possible – being a single mother to a growing man-child. I am constantly looking for ways to protect my child.
I understood and appreciate everything I’ve read. However, this one quote spoke more to me as a parent.
As parents we can’t allow anyone to slide past our defenses. Don’t allow anyone to get close enough to your son or daughter until you have armed them with the positives and negatives of their actions in relationships. Arm them with more self-worth than they can hold.
Help them to understand that they are the anchor to their soul; that God will be there to protect them even if they have to stand all by themselves. Use every ounce of the nurturing powers that God has given you. Form a hedge around your children that you are there even when they don’t see you.
I will no doubt reread parts of this book again…Thank you Bro. K.L. for such an enlightening and transparent look at your life and journey.

KL, your book "From Gigolo to Jesus" is an awesome book that shows your transition from boy to man. This book not only represents you, but other young men who shared similiar characteristics growing up and have now realized the errors of their ways. Your confessions and honesty had me reading page after page and feeling proud of your full 360 degree turnaround into the educated black male professional that you are now. Every adolescent black male in any community should be armed with this book. Well done classmate, well done.

Less than 2 years ago, I was in a dormant place creatively. I was a poet eager to share my words with the world; but due to previous nightmares with other publishers and hearing similar stories told by other hopeful authors; I was hesitant.
Then God placed Bravin Publishing directly in my path. After getting to know me and taking the time to listen to me, Bravin Publishing accepted my manuscript and in 2011 I became a published author.Impressions of A Poet, Footnotes of my Journey is my first book of poetry and I am humbled by the way Bravin has treated me as an author, client and poet. I am so impressed with the service, love and professionalism that it is easy for me to refer other writers to Bravin.
Such referrals led to me becoming a 2 time published author in less than 1 year. It is an honor to be a part of the anthology WORDPLAY, OUR WORDS ARE OUR CANVAS published by Bravin Publishing. I am in the company of some of the most profound poets of today. I've shared stages with ALL of them and knew a compilation of our talents could only result in what is a phenomenal menu of food for thought. Bravin's special touch makes it DELECTABLE!
To Tiffany and K.L Belvin, thank you for all that you do. You apply a certain kind of passion to your service and that makes you stand out in the publishing world. I am blessed to be a part of the Bravin family.

This was my first experience being a published author, and I must say that Bravin Publishing has made it a wonderful experience. I've been told I have a lot to say and Bravin has given me and members of my team an outlet to say. They have supported their authors and push books. I am a proud member of the Bravin family.

It's been a long time coming, the journey is not over; we've still got a lot of work to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This has been a roller coaster, not like a Kingda Kong but more like a backstage pass to an experience that only poets experience. Wordplay is the equivalent of what a musician's album is, but with more stanzas. KL has provided artists in this book collective their own seperate lane to further initiate their presence and be heard in many different circles on many different levels, touching lives with each poem at a time. The company in a lot of ways has really changed my thinking on business and being business minded. Being conscious of what information I put out on facebook, my dialouge amongst people for the first time that potentially may want to do business with me and how I carry myself especially when people are watching me and I am unaware of it. Overall, I've grown in plenty ways and appreciate Bravin Publishing for guiding me as a young author and the youngest of the wordplay anthology.

Honestly said, I don't think you can do anything to fend off the attacks. I don't think you got attacked because of something you did, but because lots of people admire you and your work. That's apparently enough for some people to hate you. Only by unpassionating your readers, can you hope to actually stop the haters. I hope you will reject that option.

From Gigolo to Jesus is a great testimony of God's amazing love and His abundant blessings, not to mention His forgiveness of our sins. It shows that even when we think of ourselves as unworthy of His love, He still knows our purpose. And if we're open to change and submit to God's will, He will use us as vessels. Tiff & KL are also phenomenal proof that the black family can survive; that marriage is not just a status but an evolving job; that if God is not intricately involved, there are so many things prepared to destroy it. I read the book TWICE and my eyes have been opened to mistakes I've made in past relationships, it helped me to identify some of my weaknesses I had not seen as such. So thank you KL for being honest and open and using your life as a testimony about God's work! May you both be forever blessed!
